Entrepreneurs and venture capitalists flock to IMT-G’s Startup Fair 2011

Forty startup entrepreneurs and host of venture capitalists were on hand to share their experiences and offer words of wisdom at Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad’s Startup Fair 2011, October 15.

Following the traditional lighting of the lamp by IMT-G Director Dr. Bibek Banerjee, Hitesh Oberoi, founder and chief operating officer of Naukri.com, led the list of entrepreneurs, sharing his experience of starting and managing Naukri.com, along with a string of portals such as shiksha.com, jeevansathi.com, foodiebay.com and brijj.com.

Dealing with the ins-and-outs of the digital world, he said if a business is directed toward the needs of the target audience, it will be a lucrative and successful venture, but warned patience and persistence are needed and not to expect top-end results from day one.

Following the entrepreneurs, who each had two-and-a-half minutes to speak, came the venture capitalists, outlining their expectations of a startup business and what factors they looked for when investing.

Ms. Padmaja Ruparel from Indian Angels Network said startups are judged on the content of their pitch: PODs, scaling of strategies, returns planned in three to five years, revenue modelling and eminent members.

Bipul Kumar from Tatsam Sports, an ex-IMT student who runs a start-up company himself, told the crowd the biggest hassle of a startup is the cobweb of operational hazards like finding office space.

Here, he said, the IMT-G Incubation Center comes to the rescue, being an aggregation of all services required in the beginning, so one can focus solely on the core strength and core business.

The founder of Beyond Plus 2 said, “Entrepreneurship means doing something differently and no faculty can teach 60-70 people that at one go. However, a B-School like IMT gives you a kick-start and makes you believe that there is life beyond a job. Giving emphasis to real life cases, instead of theoretical knowledge, helps in assimilating hands-on knowledge. Fairs like Start-Up Fair 2011, help you get in touch with many like-minded people by giving a detailed view of the market, helping you connect with people who can help you grow and also giving you a morale boost.”

Encouraging students further, Rashmi Bansal, author of ‘Stay Hungry Stay Foolish’, ‘Connect The Dots’ and ‘I Have A Dream’ and co-founder of youth magazine JAM (Just Another Magazine), was on hand to deliver a motivational talk. Bansal underlined the fact students, at this stage of their life, are usually unclear about their career path and goals and said this dilemma can be solved by deciding between two paths – ‘to do what one loves’ or ‘to love what one does’.

Giving a real-life example, she cited her own case and explained how faced with these two options she chose to be a writer and entrepreneur, despite being from one of the finest B-Schools in India.

In its 30 years of existence, IMT Ghaziabad has been constantly encouraging students to dream and realize those dreams. Startup Fair 2011 is just one of the innovative ways IMT is encouraging and motivating students to push their boundaries.

An annual event, Startup Fair 2012 promises to be even bigger and better than this year’s smashing success.

IMT Ghaziabad supports Great Beginnings!

Institute of Management Technology (IMT), Ghaziabad conducted a Startup Fair 2011 on October 15, 2011. This event was organized by the Entrepreneurship cell of IMT. 40 Startup entrepreneurs and many Venture Capitalists participated in the event making it a grand success. These professionals shared their knowledge and experience of setting up their companies with the students, which proved to be very valuable exercise.

The event kick started with Dr. Bibek Banerjee, Director of IMT Ghaziabad, inaugurating the event by lighting the traditional lamp. Thereafter, one by one, the entrepreneurs came up on the podium to share their insights on their Startup business. They were all given two and a half minutes to speak. The notable among all the speakers and the first in line to share his entrepreneurship skills was Mr Hitesh Oberoi, founder and COO of Naukri.com. He shared his experience about starting and managing Naukri.com along with a string of portals such as shiksha.com, jeevansathi.com, foodiebay.com and brijj.com. He shared information about the business of the digital world. He said that if a business is directed towards the needs of the target audience, it will turn out to be lucrative and thus has the makings of a successful venture. However, this requires patience and persistence as it would not be wise to anticipate results from day one.

After the entrepreneurs, it was the turn of the venture capitalists to express their expectations from a Startup and list down factors that made an investment highly attractive for them. Ms. Padmaja Ruparel from Indian Angels Network conveyed that they judge Startups on the basis of the content of their pitch: PODs, scaling of strategies, returns planned in 3-5 years, revenue modeling and eminent members. Bipul Kumar from Tatsam Sports and an ex-IMT’ian, who runs a start-up company himself, expressed that the biggest hassle of a Startup is getting into the cobweb of operational hazards like finding office space. And here, IMT G Incubation center comes to the rescue as it is an aggregation of all services which may be required in the beginning, so that the focus can be solely directed to core strength and core business. Founder of Beyond Plus 2 shared valuable insights on entrepreneurship. He said, “Entrepreneurship means doing something differently and no faculty can teach 60-70 people that at one go. However, a B-School like IMT gives you a kick start and makes you believe that there is life beyond a job. Fairs like Start-Up Fair 2011, help you get in touch with many like-minded people by giving a detailed view of the market, helping you connect with people who can help you grow and also giving you a morale boost.”

To encourage the students further, a motivational talk was conducted by Rashmi Bansal, who is the author of ‘Stay Hungry Stay Foolish’, ‘Connect The Dots’ and ‘I Have A Dream’. She is also the co-founder of youth magazine JAM (Just Another Magazine). Bansal underlined the fact that students, at this stage of their life, are usually unclear about their career path and goals.

This dilemma can be solved by deciding between two paths – ‘to do what one loves’ or ‘to love what one does’. Giving a real-life example she citied her own case and explained that how choosing between these two options she chose to be a writer and entrepreneur, despite being from one of the finest B-Schools in India.

The Start Up fair 2011 ended with a promise of putting forth a grander show next year. In the 30 years of its existence, IMT Ghaziabad has been constantly encouraging students to dream and help them realize it as well. Start Up Fair 2011 is just one of the innovative ways; IMT is encouraging and motivating students to push their boundaries. The Fair definitely had a positive effect on the students as most of them were beaming from ear to ear and had stars in their eyes!
Sky is the limit!

IMT NAGPUR awarded the National B-School award 2011

IMT Nagpur has received the National B-school award 2011 for Industry related curriculum in operations management from Star News. It has been receiving several awards and is one of the top ranked business schools in India. And why not, the management at IMT Nagpur is striving hard continually to make it the best management institute in India.

The management at IMT Nagpur understands the importance of selecting the right curriculum for the various courses they are offering. It is a known fact that the ultimate goal of a management student is to get a good job. Now, for getting a good job it is very essential for a person to have good industry knowledge. The recruiters prefer their prospective employees to possess a sound knowledge about the latest in the market. If a student is taught about the latest industry norms during his graduation he would have complete knowledge about the way things work in the real world.

Unlike, most management institutes where the students are taught the usual theoretical management lessons, the curriculum of various courses at IMT Nagpur stresses on management lessons as well as the way they are to be used in the industrial environment. The faculty members at IMT Nagpur ensure that they do complete justice to the curriculum. They do not focus only on the theoretical aspect instead there is more of practical knowledge sharing, case-based learning and project handling. Such activities help in invoking a student’s interest which in turn helps him learn faster. These sessions also groom the students and horn their managerial skills.

Apart from the classroom sessions, special seminars and workshops are also organized at the IMT Nagpur campus, wherein, industry experts and professionals are invited to give lectures and share their knowledge and experiences with the students. Professionals from various sectors such as banking, insurance, health and fitness, marketing, advertising, hospitality, tours and travels, etc are invited to conduct these seminars and workshops. Such seminars give an insight about the latest happenings in the industry. The students at IMT Nagpur are able to learn a lot about the market trends by attending such workshops.

IMTians are given an equal chance of participation during these seminars and workshops. There is a question answer round wherein, they can interact with these professionals and clarify their doubts. This interaction is an essential part of such sessions as it allows these IMTians to learn more. The knowledge sharing done during such sessions is of great help for the students when they are out in the real world. These seminars are not only beneficial for the IMT Nagpur students but are also helpful for the professors as they are also able to learn about the latest in the market. IMT Nagpur has been appreciated for conducting such sessions for the budding managers.
IMT Nagpur is also popular for its amazing infrastructure. It has a network infrastructure enabled with high speed multi-services and the network users are given remote access facility. The campus is equipped with secure high speed internet accessibility. IMT Nagpur management understands the importance of a good infrastructure and therefore, updates the campus with the latest technological facilities from time to time.

IMT-G’s CRICKET aims to aid rural India

Under the leadership of Dr. Surinder Batra, Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad’s CRICKET program is focused on boosting business in rural India.

“CRICKET is a new initiative which we have taken up at IMT with the inspiration and vision of our esteemed Director, Dr. Bibek Banerjee,” said Dr. Batra. “However, this CRICKET is not the same as World Cup Cricket or the IPL, though it promises to be as exciting and as fulfilling.

“CRICKET stands for a centre which promotes rural innovation; aims at capacity building; facilitates social entrepreneurship and adopts knowledge management and technology to promote its objectives. It is an acronym for Centre for Rural Innovation, Capacity Building, Knowledge Management, (Social) Entrepreneurship and Technology.”

The research project Dr. Batra has focused on “has conceptualized ‘Knowledge Village’ as a unit of analysis for benchmarking knowledge-based development,” he said.

“For a country like India with over 800 million rural population, it is inconceivable not to have the focus of knowledge-based development on rural India.”

Basically, CRICKET would provide a platform at the grass-roots level for action research.

Dr. Batra said: “CRICKET would be focused at vital, but often neglected, segments of the Indian society, such as rural innovators, micro and small enterprises. It will provide them professional guidance in managing the commercial aspects of their innovations through support in market research (with the help of PGDM students), developing business plans, refining business processes and thereby nurturing sustainable business.

“The lessons learnt through such engagements with the target group would be then channelized into action-research-based case studies and other research publications. Eventually, this endeavour can be expected to result in creating intellectual property for IMT and for the concerned faculty members engaged in such action research.”

Dr. Batra cited the gap between urban and rural areas in India, saying the current view of villagers is to head to bigger cities for better chances at jobs, education and a higher standard of living.

Unfortunately the higher standard of living dream doesn’t always hold true “because the quality of life in most urban areas for lower income groups is abysmal.”

“But as the grass is greener on the other side, the village communities tend to overlook the need for making their local environment more dynamic,” he said.

“The solution is to provide urban amenities in rural areas and thereby provide all forms of connectivity to the rural population,” said Dr. Batra, pointing to a project called PURA (Providing Urban Amenities in Rural Areas) proposed by Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, former president of India.

He was quick to point out knowledge management (KM) isn’t an all-encompassing solution to unemployment and underemployment in India, but it does have a definite role to play.

“KM in particular can help in establishing a link between national development strategy and various processes of knowledge acquisition, sharing and utilization,” he said.

“Effective application of Information and Communications Technology in education, both urban and rural, is another important pillar of knowledge management which can help in this pursuit,” said Dr. Batra. “Rural empowerment projects such as ‘Every Village a Knowledge Centre’ have helped in harnessing knowledge at the grassroots level and facilitated addressing societal problems.”

The research work he is spearheading at IMT-Ghaziabad should take this rural empowerment to even higher levels.

IMT’s FOBE’ 2011 – Research on the next frontiers of leveraging IT for Business Excellence

New Delhi – A four-day conference organized by Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad drew a range of IT, marketing and strategy experts to discuss the use of information technology for competitive advantage.

International Conference on Facets Of Business Excellence (FOBE- 2011) “Leveraging Information Technology for Strategic Advantage” brought together genius from academia, the industrial world and the armed forces to exchange views and experiences on leveraging IT for business excellence.

The event also saw the formal launch of 3 books on the subject: 1) Facets of Business Excellence 2) IT for Business Excellence and 3) Trends in Marketing towards Business Excellence edited by Dr. Jayanthi Ranjan, Dr. Rakesh Chopra and Prof. Sandeep Puri. One hundred and two thought-leadership articles in the books have been short-listed from more than 350 entries received from leading academia and industry practitioners. Eighty-four authors were invited for presentation. Participants in FOBE 2011 arrived from different parts of the world, bringing with them their unique perspective benefited the conference as a whole.

The primary goal of FOBE-2011 was to promote research and developmental activities on the role of IT in strategy, marketing, computational management and the related areas.  Another goal was to promote scientific information exchange between researchers, developers, consultants, academics, students, and practitioners working in India and abroad, said Dr. Bibek Banerjee, director of IMT Ghaziabad and academic mentor of group-IMT. Citing the use of IT in various businesses, Dr. Banerjee said, “Information Technology would force experts to re-write the old business models (however successful they have been). The inherent potential of IT would help redefine the boundaries of businesses, irrespective of their nature. Be it health, tourism, travel, sports or entertainment, IT would provide the much-needed connectivity to bring in cost and time advantage.”

Among other luminaries decorating the dais were Prof. Jay Mitra, director of the Centre for Entrepreneurship Research at Essex Business School, University of Essex, United Kingdom; Vice-Admiral N.N. Kumar, Controller of Warship Production and Acquisition, Naval Headquarters New Delhi and Dr. Kongkiti Phusavat, editor-in-chief the International Journal of Innovation and Learning, Kasetsart University, Bangkok (Thailand). The experts shared their views on how IT can change the face of business in future.

Prof. Mitra said today, in many industries, IT enables some businesses to differentiate themselves from their competitors. In today’s world when the challenges before nations have grown stronger, there is a greater need for them to exploit IT and successfully face those challenges.

“The world would now see more of convergence, integration and emergence (of new technologies).IT would help innovations take place more quickly than before,” said Prof. Mitra.

Dr. Phusavat explained how the use of IT accelerated the transfer and storage of large amounts of information across the globe and eliminated the drawbacks inherent in earlier, slower processes. He said Thailand is attempting to establish itself as a medical tourism destination and rehabilitation centre for people who undergo critical surgeries in western nations.

“Cost of living is far more less than what it is in the western world and IT can help patients remain in contact with the doctors irrespective of their geographic location,” Phusavat said.

Vice-Admiral N.N. Kumar explained the benefits of IT in designing warships.

“With the use of IT we now have a better understanding of how the end product is likely to be. Informational technology also helps us design the warship in 3D-mode, thereby helping the clients to have a much better understanding of the capabilities and looks of the product they intend to purchase,” Kumar said.

Dr. Jayanthi Ranjan, Dr Rakesh Chopra and Prof Sandeep Puri, conference chairs, expressed gratitude for the huge response FOBE received both nationally and internationally.

Dr. A.M. Sherry: On IMT admissions and more

Wondering why thousands of students aspire for IMT admissions each year? Read on to find out what makes this B-school one of the hot favorites amongst the students as well as the recruiters. Dr. A.M. Sherry, Chairman Joint Admission Committee, shares how the institute has grown better with each passing year.
IMT started as a small management institute in Ghaziabad in the year 1980 and since then there has been no looking back. Today, there are four IMT campuses that offer regular courses; these include IMT Ghaziabad, Nagpur, Hyderabad and Dubai. IMT also has a distance learning center which is especially popular amongst the working professionals. “Institute of Management Technology (IMT), established in 1980, has grown into a premier management institute in the country today”, says Dr. A.M. Sherry. This can very well be judge by the number of applications received for IMT admissions each year.
IMT offers various management courses with specialization in different fields including Human Resource Management, Information Technology, Operations, Finance, Marketing, and International Business. It also offers a 15 months Executive PGDM program which is the top preference of most working professionals. This course attracts a large number of working personnel to seek IMT admissions each year. Looking at the growing demand of these courses and IMT admission applications, the IMT Board of Governors has also launched full-time regular management programs from its campus at Hyderabad; the first session for the same began this year.
It is a known fact that each college has a different set of programs, fee structure, curriculum, placement record and reputation. All these aspects are equally important and must be taken into consideration while choosing a B-school. However, if you are looking at something more exciting and rewarding than IMT is the place for you; at IMT the focus is not just on the course curriculum or getting immediate placement offer. A larger picture is looked at while imparting education to the IMT students. As Dr. A.M. Sherry puts it, “IMT not only produces leaders of today but also makes its students- 'leaders of tomorrow'. The philosophy of IMT being 'Lead the Future’ ensures that every student coming out of the institute is industry-ready and their skills and their ideas are never obsolete”. IMT has been preparing its students to face the challenges of the outside world.
The institute has strong industry goodwill; most top-notch companies look forward to hiring IMT graduates. As Dr. A.M. Sherry puts it, “IMT, a reputed centre of excellence, enjoys strong industry goodwill and has recorded 100% placements with nationally and internationally reputed companies”.
IMT’s state-of-the-art infrastructure also needs a special mention. The management at IMT understands the importance of a good infrastructure and the use of modern technology; the campuses are equipped with world-class facilities. Besides this, the highly skilled and well trained faculty at IMT also plays a major role in the overall success of the IMT students.
“Since the inception, IMT has taken focused steps to fulfill its dream of becoming the country's premier management institute with a global vision. Today, having transformed the dream into a reality, IMT academicians and students have gained worldwide recognition for their academic and professional excellence”, Dr. A.M. Sherry concludes.

Five-day induction program kicks off Strathclyde Skil Business School year

A five-day session from September 19-23 introduced the first program to be offered from the Strathclyde Skil Business School (SSBS) campus in Greater Nodia - the Masters in Management (MiM).

As Prof. Bhimaraya Metri, Dean, SSBS has said: “This two-year Masters builds on Strathclyde's long established excellence in research and teaching.

“Students will be awarded a degree by the University of Strathclyde – a UK institution – one of Europe’s top 20 business schools”

“The MiM provides students with an all-round foundation that prepares them for the world of management,” said Prof. Metri.

“MiM is a two-year degree programme in which students will visit Strathclyde for one semester and will do an extended internship with an Indian company where they can employ their theoretical knowledge to a practical situation,” he said.

“The company-based project will provide an invaluable opportunity of applying the knowledge gained from full-time studying to a concrete business setting. This high-quality mix of theory and practice makes our programme a unique learning experience, ideal preparation for managing in today’s challenging business environment.”

According to Prof. Taylor, the induction program was an invigorating and hugely successful learning event.

“The students very quickly grasped the distinctive orientation of the MiM; for example the relationship of theoretical learning to practical application, the importance of becoming a reflective practitioner,” he said. “Students were also hugely enthusiastic about the innovative and group-based methods of learning which they had not encountered before. The emphasis in this program of studying on active learning was greatly welcomed.”

The five-day induction program got underway with high tea, followed by welcoming addresses by: Prof. B. Metri, Dean of the school;  Prof. Taylor, Academic Director, MiM Prorgamme; Ms Simrat Joshi, Chief Operating Officer, SSBS and Dr. Sanjeev Verma, Chairperson, MiM Prorgamme at SSBS.

This in turn was followed by a presentation about Strathclyde SKIL Business School by Prof. Taylor and a question and answer session for students, along with an address via Skype by Prof. Susan |Hart, dean of the Strathclyde Business School in Glasgow.

The first day of the program wound up with a session covering the library and e-resources facilities, conducted by Prof. Taylor and one on developing the culture of entrepreneurship by Manoj Uthup.

Over the course of the next four days there were presentations on: The Navco Case Study - Decision Making in the Company of Today by Prof. Taylor, Prof. Metri and Dr. Sanjeev Verma; reading research and report writing (Prof. Taylor and Dr. Verma); how to become a corporate leader (Sanjay Goyal, vice-president of Ericsson and Prof. Metri) and case teaching and case analysis (Dr. Verma).

And students were clearly impressed, with one calling the SSBS program “a refreshing sight to the Indian education sector as it not only provides high quality education but also imports real time business concepts and rich cultural experience to India.”

“We as students clearly inferred that this B-school will go a long way in the Indian history.”

The Strathclyde SKIL Business School (SSBS), is affiliated with Strathclyde Business School (SBS), Scotland, (one of Europe’s top 20 business schools) which shares its seal of approval from: AMBA (Association of MBAs) UK; AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) the U.S.A.’s best known accreditation body and EQUIS (the European Quality Improvement System) Europe.

IMT CDL: IMT CDL outshines the other distance learning institutes

Like various other institutes, IMT CDL has also come up with a variety of distance learning programs. However, IMT CDL outshines the other distance learning institutes and universities. IMT CDL ranking has been high mainly owing to the kind of courses it is offering and the way education is being imparted in this institute.

Distance learning is considered to be a better option, these days, as compared to attending the regular courses. One major advantage it offers is the ease and flexibility of learning. This is mainly helpful for those who are working and intend to study alongside.

The demand for management education is increasing by the day and so are the management institutes. IMT CDL rankings have been high ever since it started offering management and information technology courses. Using new and innovative ways for imparting distance education to hiring highly qualified and able faculty to offering various management courses; IMT CDL has everything that a management aspirant can ask for.

The main reason why IMT CDL ranking has been high consistently is the fact that it is offering courses that are in-sync with the current market scenario. IMT CDL leads the way for distance learning with various much-in-demand courses including a Two year Post Graduate diploma in Management (PGDM), Two year MS in Cyber Law and Security, One year Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Executive), PHD program, One year Post Graduate Diploma in Cyber Security, One year Post Graduate Diploma in Taxation, One year Post-Graduate Diploma in Business Administration, One-year Post-Graduate Diploma in Financial Management, One year Post Graduate Diploma in Material and Supply Chain Management, One year Post-Graduate Diploma in Marketing Management, One year Post-Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management, One year Post-Graduate Diploma in Export Management, One year Post-Graduate Diploma in Retail Management and Two year Advanced Post-Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM). All these courses are in demand these days.

IMT CDL rankings have been on top not only because of the courses it offers but also because of the course content of these Diploma courses. The curriculum designed for these courses covers all the necessary knowledge that is required to inculcate good managerial skills in a student.

However, the management at IMT CDL understands that only theoretical knowledge is of no use in today’s highly competitive corporate environment. In most distance learning courses, the institutes send across certain set of books on each subject and the students simply mug up the books before appearing for the examination. In such a scenario there is a lack of understanding and practical knowledge, the only thing that is stressed upon is theory. The students enrolled at such institutes manage to get a degree but fail to learn the actual management or technology lessons. While the students at IMT CDL get the opportunity to understand the various aspects of the subjects they are studying. IMT CDL especially arranges classroom sessions via video conferencing for the students enrolled in distance learning programs. The students can learn and clarify their doubts through these sessions.

IMT CDL also conducts classes at its study centers. Those who can visit the study centers physically can attend the classes there. Though these are distance learning courses, nevertheless the students enrolled to these get the same treatment and quality of education as the regular IMT students.

IMT CDL rankings in India have always been high; it is considered to be one of the top management and technology institutes in the country. IMT CDL management and faculty members have also been appreciated globally. And the IMT CDL pass outs are always in demand.

IMT CDL: IMT CDL Faculty works hard continually to keep the Institute on Top

The management at IMT CDL understands the importance of a teacher’s role in a student’s life. This is the reason why all the faculty members at IMT CDL have been handpicked. It is a known fact that IMT CDL ranking has consistently been on top. Major credit for this consistent performance goes to its learned faculty.

The number of institutes offering management and technology courses has increased over the past few years. Apart from offering the management courses in Finance, Human Resource and Marketing, most of these institutes have come up with a number of other specializations. Management courses specializing in retail management, export management, Material and Supply Chain Management, etc are available in almost all the institutes these days. Same is the case with the Information Technology courses. Despite this, certain institutes are able to fetch more students; IMT CDL is one of them. IMT CDL rankings have always been high. Be it the courses offered here or the infrastructure or the faculty members; IMT CDL ranking has always been on top on all the parameters.

Designing good curriculum is certainly important; however a good curriculum alone cannot do any wonders. It is not the only reason why IMT CDL rankings in India have been on top consistently. IMT CDL leads the way for distance learning owing to the hard work and efforts put in by the faculty members. IMT CDL rankings have also been high owing to its outstanding infrastructure and well stocked library.

The efficiency of any educational institute is determined by the kind of education it imparts. It can further be judged by seeing how well groomed its students are. Both these aspects can be taken care of only if the faculty is good.

The faculty members at IMT CDL are doing complete justice to the proficiently designed curriculum. The curriculum is updated from time to time and the professors at IMT CDL also keep themselves updated with the latest in the market. Both the Indian as well as global market scenarios are studied before upgrading the course content so that once out of the institute the students are ready to take up work in our country as well as outside. The IMT CDL faculty is always there to help and support its students. The students can visit the IMT CDL study centers for attending the classes and clarifying their doubts. They can even attend the online classes through video conferencing. These online classes are of great help for the students who do not have the time to visit the study centers physically.

With so many institutes around, deciding as to which institute to opt for is one of the biggest confusion for a student. However, looking at the IMT CDL rankings in the last few years, more and more students are getting drawn towards this institute. The management and faculty members at IMT CDL are continually trying to improve the standard of education and embed good managerial skills and technological knowledge in their students.

The students at IMT CDL are educated and trained efficiently to become future managers and technology experts. IMT CDL graduates/ post graduates are much in demand in the market these days.

IMT CDL: IMT CDL continues to be on Top

It is not an easy task to remain at the number one position consistently for years. There are various aspects that need to be worked upon in order to get this ranking and maintain it. IMT CDL has worked upon every aspect and done everything that takes to produce good market leaders. No wonder, the demand for IMT CDL graduates is always high in the market.

IMT CDL rankings have been on pinnacle since the last few years. The management and faculty members at IMT CDL are working hard to maintain this position. Their main aim is to instill their students with a zest for learning and horn their skills so that they are able to face any kind of challenge once they are out in the market.

IMT CDL leads the way for distance learning because of its learned faculty members, great infrastructure and easy access to the training sessions.

IMT CDL ranking has been on top owing to a number of factors. The very first thing that needs to be taken care of is the infrastructure. Though IMT CDL offers distance learning programs, still the management has never been negligent about the IMT CDL campus infrastructure. The IMT CDL study centers are also well maintained and have efficient staff members who are there to help the students at every step. The reason for high IMT CDL rankings in India can be judged once you enter its 6 acre campus set up near Delhi. The campus has an outstanding infrastructure, outfitted with the latest technological equipments. The entire campus is networked by Wi-Fi. The classrooms are well-equipped with all the latest facilities. The campus auditorium also has all the modern-day facilities and the library couldn’t have been better. You would be able to find almost all the books relevant to the subjects offered at IMT CDL in the campus library.

A number of IMT CDL study centers have also been opened so that the students can attend classes at their nearest study center every weekend. Though most students who opt for distance learning programs prefer to study on their own as per their ease, however, there are times when one needs guidance. The classes conducted at the study centers are a great help for the IMT CDL students. The institute also offers online classes; this is also one of the reasons why IMT CDL ranking has been high.

The study centers and online classes have been a success only because of the learned faculty members at IMT CDL. IMT CDL ranking has been on top consistently and by imparting quality education the management is hoping to maintain this position in the years to come.

IMT CDL Centers: A great support for the IMT CDL students

IMT CDL ranking has been on top consistently. It has been ranked the number one institute for distance learning. A number of factors contribute to IMT CDL’s success; one of them is the way IMT CDL centers in India, cater to the needs of the students enrolled in their distance learning courses.

These centers play an important role in a student’s life even before he/ she takes admission at IMT CDL. One can visit the IMT CDL information centers in order to get counseling and understand the procedure of admission properly. The staff members at these centers are efficient enough; they guide the prospective students and help them in choosing the best suitable course as per their interest.

The admission tests are also conducted at these centers. And the admission test results are also displayed here.

There are a number of IMT CDL centers set in various cities in India. Certain cities, such as New Delhi, even have Multiple IMT CDL centers.
The number of study centers has increased because of the increasing number of students taking admission in the institute owing to IMT CDL ranking high consistently over the past few years. More study centers means more convenience for the students as they can locate the centers near their place rather than traveling long distance to attend the classes.

The number of regional centers has also increased. Earlier there was just one IMT CDL Regional Center which was based in Kolkata. However, the management at IMT CDL has opened four more Regional centers now. These are based in Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Nagpur. These are set so that the information and study centers can be managed well. The faculty from IMT Ghaziabad, IMT Hyderabad and IMT Nagpur specially visit their near by regional centers to deliver lectures to the IMT CDL students.

The IMT CDL information and study centers are located at Alwar, Bahadurgarh, Banglore, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dehradun, Delhi, Ghaziabad, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Greater Noida, Gurgaon, Mumbai, Meerut, Lucknow, Ludhiana, Patna, Ranchi and various other places in India. A student can have a look at the list of the various study centers on the brochure and decide as to which study center to opt for. A student also has the flexibility of changing the study center in case of transfer to another city. A nominal fee of Rs. 2000/- is charged in case of changing the study center.

Classes are conducted every Saturday and Sunday at these study centers. Though IMT CDL offers online classes, however attending an actual class is always better as compared to learning through a virtual class conducted via video conferencing. These study centers allow the IMT CDL students to attend classes in order to learn better.

The four-day extravaganza, considered to be the “Mecca” of B-school festivals, draws the best brains in management from India’s top institutes to go head-to-head in intense competitions centred around: marketing, finance, operations, human resources, consultancy and information technology.

Highlighting the business end will be the “Ace of Spades” the flagship event of IMT Ghaziabad, where participants have to survive a 48 hour marathon of being tested with new challenges on their managerial intuition, creativity, innovativeness and thinking on their feet. Only one will be left standing.

The festival kicks off with a strictly business format Oct. 9, with a day of competition capped by a quiz session led by quiz master  Arul Mani, who won the All-India Quizzing Championships yearly from 2005 to 2011 and the Maha quizzer title in 2008 and 2011.

Cultural competitions kick in the afternoon and evening of Oct. 10 and 11, with events ranging from solo singing and karaoke to flamenco and group dancing, outdoor dramatic presentations in a theatre-in-the-round, a fashion extravaganza and literary events such as a model United Nations and parliamentary debate.

The gala event is capped by a battle of the bands starting at 6 p.m. on Oct. 12.

Truly an event not to be missed, IMT Ghaziabad’s Passion ’11 is any energy-filled event, crammed with cut-throat competition and displays of skill, talent and a desire to succeed by the best-of-the-best of India’s B-schools.
